Fundraising

Sooo I started fundraising a few days ago. At first I didn't want to start till I officially got into YWAMWaves,  but my mom had a good point that I should start and if I don't get into this one, I can apply to the other ones!

So the first thing I have started are Salvation bracelets. I am selling them 2 for $10 and you keep one and I take the other with me when I leave, and when someone accepts Jesus or hears the story of him I will give them the bracelet YOU bought! When you pick out the second one (the one I will take with me) I will tag your name on it and I will try my best to take a picture of the person with the bracelet you picked out, then will add the picture to this blog so you can see where your bracelet went.

I want it to be more than, someone just giving me money, I wanted them to be able to see how they helped, how they helped me get there, how they helped affect the lives there, how they helped me Know him, and make Him known!!

Another idea that is in the works are these pretty sweet shirts, they would me made by the company Fund the Nations!- Check them out!!I have been in contact with them, on what I would like on the shirts! I won't be selling those till I know for sure I am going to Australia, just because the shirts have a picture of Australia on it, so I don't want to make them, and then end up going some where else.

  YWAMWaves
On Monday I went and got my passport! Holy cow does my picture look terrible tho, and the bad thing is I have it for like 10 years, at lest I could smile unlike the drives license, that ones a different story...
So now I got to wait 4-6 weeks, that is also why I started fundraising now, the earliest I could know about getting accepted is early March, late March if everything went well, so we decided to start.

Prayer request!!
That again God would show me the right answer even if it is a no
That I could fund raise all the money I need
That in the processes of getting my passport, fundraising, finishing high school, and what not, that I don't lose sight of God.
Thanks for the support, will keep you updated on the hole long process!!
Peace out girl scouts- SammiG

Rhythms Of Grace

I love music a lot! I listen to it all day eryyydaaayyy! Sometimes I fall asleep with it, but sometimes I think my headphones will choke me in my sleep so then I like hmmm better not, and take them out before I fall asleep.
I play the drums and have been since 7th grade! Anytime I am listing to a song I subconsciously start tapping to the song, which sometimes annoys me, sooo it probably annoys other people too so, sorry not sorry...haha

Rhythms Of Grace- Hillsong United
My life is a light for Your cause
My will laid aside for Your call
And reserved are the depths of my heart
Only for You

I'm caught in the rhythms of grace
They overcome all of my ways
Realigning each step everyday
To live for Your glory

There's none beside You God
There's none beside You God

You're there in the dark of the night
While holding the sun and it's light
Through the triumph and trials alike
There's no-one beside You

Your voice called the stars by their name
'Cause You whispered them all to their place
To testify to Your wonder and praise
Both now and forever

There's none beside You God
There's none beside You God
I love my life to shine Your light
'Cause there's none beside You God

No eye has seen
No ear has heard
The depths of Your love, Lord
No mind can fathom
The love You deserve
How great You are

I am obsessed with this song right now, not because the drums are totally awesome in this song but what it means...... Like I said before I tap to the beat of a song, so a lot of times, I don't really pay any attention to what a song is saying, or what the song means.
So I looked up "What does Rhythms Of Grace mean" found some cool stuff

When you hear the word rhythm we think of music. The rhythm section in a band, it lays the foundation for the song. When the rhythm in a song is flat, mistimed, or just doesn't fit with the flow of the song, it will throw everything off. The song would not be enjoyable. When you listen to a song that is not flat, or mistimed, and flows well, then you start to enjoy it.
Sooo God invites us to set our lives to a new beat, to live in His rhythms of grace.

I'm caught in the rhythms of grace
They overcome all of my ways
Realigning each step everyday
To live for Your glory

We no longer have to live in the rhythm of our mistakes, our brokenness, what has happened to us or what we have done. We now live in a different kind of rhythm -- the rhythm of what Christ has done for us on the cross.

Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced RHYTHMS of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly."

In the rhythms of grace, all of our ways are overcome to now live for a greater purpose.

Ephesians 2:8
Romans 5:6-8- God's ultimate act of grace was sending his son to save us.
Romans 12:1-2 (MSG)- What it looks like in our lives.

"If you've experienced even a glimpse of His love, of His grace,
His mercy and His faithfulness, then you have a song to sing."
- Joel Houston (Hillsong United)

Middle School Kids are AWESOME!

Did you just say middle school and awesome in the same sentence. Why yes, yes I did!

So one of the questions tonight at youth group was. "What is the best superhero power?" I am very proud to say this is what my 8th grade girls said. "Flying because, you can poop on birds instead of them pooping on you, or poop on people that would be cool too."

I look forward to the ROCK ever Wednesday because, I get to hang out with middle school kids! Ya some smell, some say some weird stuff, but some love Jesus!

This is my 3rd year being a leader. I have had the same youth group girls since they were 6th graders. It's cool, because they are in finishing 8th grade, and I am finishing my senior year, so we kinda "graduate" at the same time. Just thinking about this school year being over is scary only because, they are going to be freshmen next year! They have matured so much, ya sometimes they act like they have not, but that's why I love them.

Tonight at youth group we talked about Mark 12:28-30. We really focused in on verse 30, Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.
We talked about how you can't just kinda know God, and kinda make him your life. You gotta make God your life, to have people be like, man hes different, or man shes different. Not in a bad way, in a I LOVE JESUS way!

Duey (our awesome youth pastor) gave the kids (and us leaders to) 3 steps to do this
Create Space- Say NO to something so you can say YES to time with him
Get to Know Him- You LOVE someone as you GET TO KNOW them & INTERACT with them
Experience Him- Don't just know ABOUT God.... EXPERIENCE Him this week.

We got these note cards, with ways to accomplish these 3 things. I had my youth group girls first think where they needed work on, then they picked a thing they wanted to do to help, either Create Space, Get to Know Him, or Experience Him better.
A couple they picked are, Turn off phone for and hour, get ready for bed 15 min earlier and do a devotional, read one chapter of Psalms each day this week, hang verses around bedroom, listen to some Christian music.

So why are middle school kids AWESOME, because they are on fire for Jesus!! They want to know who he is, they want to get to know him, they want to experience him, and it is so totally awesome to see!

I love all the dumb stuff they say and do! I well truly miss all of them next year, and I hope they know that they are awesome and,
that they have made an impact on my life!

We like to take pictures.............A LOT!

YWAMWaves

My name is Samantha, but I get called SammiG, because I am gonna be a future rapper one day.... maybe.

My new years resolution is to write 2014 on my paper instead of 2013. (haha I am not much of a new years resolution person)

To get onto what this first blog post is about. YWAMWaves

What Is YWAMWaves you ask? YWAMWaves is a DTS program  (Discipleship Training School) Know God Make him Known!! I started the application today. I almost have it done! One thing about YWAMWaves is that it's not in the United States... It's in Australia! So only a few hundred feet from Iowa mom, no need to cry.... Or not.....
If accepted I would have to be there September 8th, and would be coming back home by January 23rd!
It's a 12 week lecture phase in Australia, then 8 weeks on an oversea outreach. (I would have no clue where that would be till I got to Australia)
I feel this is something God has called me to do!

What could you do to help me...... PRAY!
Praying is pretty sweet!
You could pray for - The right answer, even if it's no. For financial help. It's costly but if this is wear I need to go, God will provide! Also for me to finish out the rest of the 4 1/2 months I have left of high school, I just want to be done... like now!
If you made it to the end of this blog, congratulations you did it! (Buddy the Elf voice)
Anyway I will definitely keep you posted on this new adventure in my life!
God is AWESOME

Peace out Girls Scouts- SammiG
